HexClad Staffers' Favorite Holiday Food Traditions

HexCladdians love food–no shock there. This year, we’re spilling the beans on our team’s favorite holiday traditions and products. From favorite family dishes to nostalgic flavors, here’s a little peek at what makes the season special for the people behind the screens. You might just get inspired!

Laura Rege, Food Director

“My family is Italian-American, so we've always done the Feast of the Seven Fishes for Christmas Eve. (Well, we’ve cheated a bit over the years and not done seven fishes.) But the two mainstays are fried calamari and Spaghetti alle Vongole. We usually serve the calamari with a horseradish-y cocktail sauce, but pairing it with aioli for a combo dip is extra special. A big bowl of lemon wedges on the side is essential. For dessert, we often do an upside-down lemon meringue pie filled with a lemon curd filling.

This year, I’ll be pulling out my 8-quart Hybrid Stock Pot to boil the pasta and make the sauce and calamari in my biggest Deep Sauté Pan.”

Matt Duckor, Head of Content

“Things really kicked off about three weeks before Christmas when we decorated the tree as a family. We’d make root beer floats and personal mini pizzas to mark the occasion. We kept it simple–store-bought pizza dough we shaped ourselves, plus a toppings bar so everyone could have exactly what they wanted (pepperoni and sausage for me). I'll be replicating the tradition with my own family this year, with one game-changing addition–the HexClad Hybrid Pizza Steel. Because mini pizzas deserve killer, restaurant-quality crust, too.”

Mini Pizza Night

Sarah Richter, Freelance Copywriter

“My family's favorite tradition is definitely the night we make latkes. For one night only, it's a Hanukkah fried food bonanza. I stand at the stove, frying latkes to order, while family and friends play dreidel and grab each batch as it comes out of the skillet. A little sour cream, a little applesauce, what's not to love? Can't wait to use the Splatter Screen to help with jumping oil this year!”

Andrew Windle, Director of Retention

“My favorite holiday dish is a green bean casserole with a bunch of cheese and fried onions on top! My favorite HexClad dish to make this in is our Small Hybrid Roasting Pan. I love how deep it is: more room for more layers of green bean, cheese and oniony goodness!”

Alex Van Buren, Senior Writer & Content Strategist

"I love a whole store-bought ham with a homemade, maple syrupbased glaze, like this one. It makes the whole house smell great while it's roasting, you can set it out with mustard and rolls, and it does the trick for any holiday lunch, brunch or casual dinner. A really bright, fresh green salad–I've been loving pears and winter squash with greens and a Champagne vinaigrette–is a perfect counterpoint."

Hot Maple Glazed Ham

Jarrale Daniels, Junior Content Manager

“Ever since moving to L.A. from Chicago in 2019, I’ve cherished going back home for the holidays. I love getting the chance to see my parents and have their amazing home cooking including my mom’s famous potato salad, my aunt’s baked mac and cheese and her dressing, and my dad’s fried turkey. My mom is over-the-moon excited to use her HexClad gear this year for Thanksgiving and Christmas, like the 8-quart Hybrid Stock Pot, which will be perfect for boiling her potatoes!”

Crystal Bahmaie, Creative Producer

“My grandma always made the stuffing, and I'm the one she taught to make it, so I carry on the tradition for my family. I'll be making it in the Small Hybrid Roasting Pan this year. (It's my favorite pan that we've launched recently). It's a very simple recipe, but that means it's also easy to get wrong. She was Southern, and her ratio is 3 parts raw white bread (not toasted, not fancy) to 2 parts freshly baked cornbread. Christmas was also the only day we ever ate biscuits and gravy, and she would make it for when we woke up. That is also my responsibility now since she passed away last year. On New Year’s Eve, my dad makes a big Persian feast since everyone tends to be in town. The rice would be amazing in our 10-quart or 12-quart Hybrid Stock Pot and the kebabs are grilled.”

From pizza night to latke marathons, these HexClad holiday memories remind us that the best traditions start with the dishes we share. Here's to bringing a little extra flavor to your own celebrations this season!
